When I opened Bren's Therapeutic Massage and Manual Therapy on December 1st, 1993, in San Anselmo, California, it was the outcome of a life-changing experience I wanted to share with others. After years of having been a Certified Weight Trainer (CWT) and studying at College of Marin, I experienced my first professional massage.  I had been in a skiing accident and a recent car accident, I was in pain and had headaches all the time, after her treatment I felt like myself for the first time in years.  As a result of this experience, I enrolled at Alive and Well Institute of Conscious Bodywork, in San Anselmo.  I completed Certified Massage Therapist (CMT) training, and immediately rented an office, ready to help my clients.

With high overhead and as yet no clients, I took a nanny position to support myself.  Through the experience of being a nanny, I learned many communication skills, and I still have that beautiful family in my life today.

Even with CMT training, I still had many questions about the body and how to work with injuries, so I enrolled in the Conscious Bodyworker (CBW) 580-hour course.  It was wonderful being able to choose classes I was interested in, as well as the required courses.  Jocelyn Olivier (ICBW) and Victor Kim Santa, as well as many other great teachers, helped me achieve my goals.  After finishing courses, Kim Santa invited me to attend his graduate course in Berkeley.  With the financial help of Ama Helen, my father, and Laura Fannon, I was able to attend.  This is where I learned Manual Therapy.  By this time I had moved my office to a much larger space, and my reputation was growing.  It was here at my larger office that Kim taught his very last class, and let me help him work with his clients. Before he passed away, I made a promise to him that I would continue his work and someday teach it to others.

After moving my business to San Rafael, CA, I decided to continued my education with Peter Selby RPT (MT) and his wife Anne.  Their work is almost unexplainable: Matrix Integration Therapy and Instantaneous Healing, as it was called then. I am still learning this amazing work.  It supports the body to heal itself through helping to clear the subtle energy structures and functions which serves to express the consciousness of the Soul.

Currently, I work in my San Rafael office Tuesday through Saturday.

Every client that has trusted me to work with them has taught me in some way, and I am very fortunate and grateful for that.
